Dubois, Wyoming
has a picture-perfect setting in the heart of fertile ranch land that is fed by the waters of the Wind River and rimmed by the brilliant orange badland formations. Dubois is located in a region of Wyoming known as the “Banana Belt,” which generally experiences milder weather than the majority of the state, however the weather can be unpredictable, especially in spring when storms bring much needed rain. Dubois’ averages close to 300 days of sunshine per year. Chinook winds help keep it cool in the summer and help melt snows in the winter. Dubois’ rather mild climate is what attracts Bighorn Sheep from the surrounding mountains during the winter months, giving the area the distinction of possessing the largest Bighorn herd on Earth.
